Marianne Craig

Lawyer & Founder

Marianne's practice focuses on employment and human rights law including terminations, contract negotiation, discrimination and the duty to accommodate.  Marianne also maintains a smaller general litigation practice including property and condo disputes, creditors' remedies and breach of contract claims.

Marianne is a strong advocate, representing clients involved in workplace-related disputes in court and administrative tribunals, such as the Ontario Labour Relations Board and Human Rights Tribunal of Ontario.  She advises on legislative requirements for both provincially and federally regulated employers, and assists clients in the private and public sector.

Marianne received both her law degree and Honours Bachelor of Science degree from the University of Toronto. She was called to the Bar in 2008.  Prior to forming Hilltop Law, Marianne was a partner at a full-service law firm in Barrie, Ontario.

Marianne has an impressive history of community involvement, including volunteer work at Pro Bono Law Ontario, Advocates for Injured Workers and the Ontario Court of Justice Family Law Project. In addition to her volunteer experience, Marianne has worked on contract with the University of Toronto Faculty of Law, providing research and writing services.  She is a former member of the Board of Directors of YMCA of Simcoe/Muskoka and of the Greater Barrie Chamber of Commerce.

In her spare time, she mediates disputes of a different nature - over toys - between her feisty French bulldog and fearless toddler.
